Well! The Fourth of July And Brenda & Sam's Anniversary has come and gone, the Corn wasn't Knee Hi, and many towns didn't have their usual extravaganza of blowing up many $$$$$ worth of sparkly boom booms. We, however, went to Rangely and viewed that town's offering from our usual Pull-off, where one can see the sparkles, but I tell ya, without the NOISE it ain't the same.

Vic brought his family out from Peshtigo, Wisconsin, stayed a few days, then hied himself back to Wisconsin and working overtime. The children... This is just great, I'm getting a chance to know them, and I adore them! Katherine is very "girly", and John is a real keeper. They're both bright and sweet. Katherine fell in love with Teddy, and they wore each other out the first couple days, while John got into some car repairs with My Geezer.

I NEVER FORWARD CHAIN LETTERS, BUT THIS SPEAKS FOR ME...

Paul Harvey and Prayer

Paul Harvey says:

I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin , but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of Evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game. So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire Book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game.

But it's a C hristian prayer, some will argue.

Yes, and this is the United States of America , a country founded on Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game Jerusalem ,I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer.
If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad , I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China , I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit.
When in Rome ..

But what about the atheists? Is another argument.

What about them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray bef ore eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying.

God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we tell that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want. It is time that the majority rules! It's time we tell them, You don't have to pray; you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right; but by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back, and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all .. especially those who denounce Him God bless America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God.

Let's make 2008 the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions ... and our military forces come home from all the wars.

Keep looking up.

Spring is really here, so far it's been lovely weekdays, that make you wanna be outside, but weekends have been dreary, drizzly, rainey!!! Yukkey. Things are greening up, the first paperwhites, crocii, daffys have shown their welcome faces, and Teddy is happy to have grass growing in her yard, and NO SNOW!!!

It's difficult to remember all that snow and plowing two and three times a week. We were lucky not to have flooding, but waaaaaaay up north, they had flooding. The Penobscot overflowed its' banks, but we, as I said, were lucky. And we can use this wet weather, as early on it was so dry there were fire watch warnings.

Got a new camera and have been ultra busy weeding out my library and putting books on ebay, so I gots room to add new titles. Will post pics really really soon! Promise.

TEDDY'S WINTER DILEMMA
That huge lump is a picnic table.

"You want me to do what! Where!"

Brave little doggie!

Yes, someone took pity on her and sort of made a trail...

SNOW

Lots of it! Nine feet total snow fall so far this winter! Snow bunnies are so happy, snowmobilers are zipping all over the state! Imagine, there have been winters when those snow machines never came off the trailers! Recently, too. Sand/salt piles are diminishing rapidly, many towns have already spent their winter snow removal budget, and the storms just keep coming. My Mister has been plowing every storm, usually two to three days to clean it all up, then a couple days ease before the next dump. And the wear and tear on his body, stuffing that heavy snow into mile high piles, not to mention the wear and tear on his one ton plow truck! Owie! So the days it isn't snowing, he's busy repairing.

OMG!!! I haven't seen you in months, luckily, my memory still serves and I remembered how to get here. I have new pics to add, soon. Weather has come and gone, and summer is a faded memory. Winter has dumped some piles of snow on us, and Teddy has discovered that if she don't want to put it in the snow, she needs to break trail to the shelter of the picnic table, where there's still a hint of Mother Earth's BoosUm, and she can squat to pee.

Anyway, figured I'd let you know, I haven't forgotten ANYTHING, and for he who wants to know, that BIG THING in my living room is an eight harness Harrissssville Loom, and I still ain't been able to get back to it. Got this thing about not being able to weave unless I have done all my work first. Because I enjoy weaving so much apparently it takes on the taste of decadence! and I must first earn the privilege. Dam! What a burden.

Christmas is happening as we speak, and you gotta see my tree!

SOON!

SNOW PREDICTED! APRIL 12, 2007

Yep, along with the nearly two feet we got last week, we're expecting another dump that starts soon, bet it'll be another eighteen to twenty-four inches. And the yard (dog pen) is nearly all melted out AGAIN, and MUDDY!!! Teddy has had her pal, Indie over a lot these past few days and they find all the mud available out there, and both come in with muddy feet, plus Teddy smells like Indie's breath. They play chew face and roll each other over a lot. BUT they both sleep really really deeply when the day is done.

I'm so burnt out on the birds, that their morning joy has become just plain annoying shrieks and I'm hoping to convince someone to take them BOTH for a couple monthes, until they get burnt out too. Can you believe I've only TWO, after my flock numbered up to eighteen at one time!

I say BIRD SOUP to them quite often, and threaten to set them outside for the hawks. They just continue on their merry shrieking way.
