OH YIPPEEE-YAHOO
I am so effen happy! Let me count the ways. ahh, Tiger Direct is holding my money hostage until AMD makes another processor, so I have been on hold since the 29th of last month. Now that may not seem too long to you but it was on the 28th of the previous month when I ordered a processor that proved to be not particularly compatible with the mother board I'd ordered, so I had to return that, and reorder (the processor that is on back order) And to confound that mess, I had to call TD and get them to release the money that I'd paid for the returned processor, since they'd taken out the money for the new order already. So last week I called and was told that another processor (a step up) was also on back order and that they could NOT stop shipment of the processor that is on back order anyway. WTF! Did you follow all that?
That is on my mind today, annnd... The Big Guy finally decided to do something about out two leaking toilets. The one upstairs... he broke it. The one in the cellar, he fixed. The one upstairs will be replaced by a HIGH seat Throne when it comes in, tomorrow hahahaha. In the meantime, me... who has to pee five times a night will have to trek down two flights of stairs. If I fall down, he will have to come get me up. Hahahaha.
What else...... Oh ya, MMM came up this am to see the lovelies, with their bright yellow heads. My they're pretty. And we were having a wonderful bitch session, comparing notes on who had the most obnoxious friends (I think she won, not sure) and in walks the Big Guy. Sure put a damper on that bitch session. It ain't no fun when THE MAN steps in. But he cooks good.
Remind me one day, and I'll tell you about this couple who is home schooling their children in their straw house with no running water, no sewage, no electricity. Ain't that special!
Nearly as special as DG on Madman's blog http://ventingagain.blogspot.com.
Then there's this old house, had a stone built cellar, was starting to slip around, so... see above
That seems to be all the news for today. Got some yellow Grosgrain ribbon today for my soldier boy in Iraq. This suks... Oh! Have you seen the commercial for the sucky TV reception? One of the satelite (hell I can't speeeel it!) TV providers . Love it. almost

CHILDREN OF INCEST
Well, that is eXactly what they are. And they have the only available nest box, so guess what. Babe, hen extrodinaire, is still at it. She has moved in, laid an egg, I tossed it last time I cleaned nest box, and today there was another egg, so I left it. I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life tending new hatches. Now if I could just get up the courage to start hand feeding, I'd have lovely babies who would be welcome companions in any home. My parent raised babies are sweet too, and don't take a lot of attention to remain so. Anyway, DC's brood is being fought over by DC and his mother, both claiming parenting rights, and he, being male, will probably lose to Big Moma. Actually I think he already has, she wouldn't let him share in the feeding just now. They screamed at each other and postured, and he finally gave in to her and went over to the community cage. She is contentedly feeding her grandbabies, and tending her egg.

Notice the bright color on the babies. Their parents looked just like Babe & Alex. These guys are very colorful. Suppose I should study genetics. Nah. Takes too much concentration. Got a house full of kids, lucky to remember my name.

PETE & OLIVE
Have I told you about Pete & Olive? Such a loving cuple. Justine brought them to me when she got upset with her friends who owned them, they had been shut away in a room all alone because of their noise! Here, they're very quiet and loving the community. She is much more adventurous than he, it was a couple months before he took advantage of the open cage to venture out, and when either is out of sight of the other, he shrieks for her. (it does sound like a shriek, but whatcha gonna do, he only has so many noises in his vocabulary) They're very sweet, and I suppose they may do the raise a family thing, some day. I'm not anxious for that to happen, because it is so hard to find loving forever homes for these guys, so I figure it'll be a couple years before I encourage "nesting" again. This summers clutches have been such a learning experience.

Actually I don't "encourage" nesting, I discourage it, but, when all is well in their world it's natural for them to make more! And the babies are so sweet.

As you can see, I leave the sell tags on items, because they take such delight in ripping them up. They don't ingest it, just shred it, and it keeps them occupied.

Sorry to be so birdyfied on this blog, but besides my fiber fetishes, my family and friends, my birds are a large part of my life. All the kids visit my birds when they come to see me.

A NEW DEVELOPMENT IN BIRDY LAND
Do not bleeb this is happening. Yesterday when I went to clean out the nest box, Babe was in there, I drove her out and put the babies in their basket, cleaned the nest box... there was a new egg in there. Today, I have twice caught her in the nest box, FEEDING HER GRANDCHILDREN! DC, her son, the babies father, has spent nights clinging to the community cage, not wanting to stand solitary vigil over his progeny. He has not been the most atentive father, but he is a first timer, and has been dislocated, so he's done very well. I do think, though, that he is going to let his mother finish his job! How's that for odd! And Tess moved right out of the nest, refusing to have anything to do with feeding her brood, she just wanted to make more eggs. This is a very confusing education!
In other news, I know the colors to dye for John's camo mittens, but hate to use such dull colors on my superwash. I may look for a ready yarn for the camo and make him something else with the superwash, something in blues.
Off to ebay for something ;>

Wanna know about ADD? Here's a peek... http://www.add.org/articles/whats_it_like.html

It's nearly noon and the Big Guy said he was gonna cook us a steak, so I've put off breakfast and my meds, now it appears I'm gonna have to go out there (he's in the shop) and remind him that it's HUNGRY TIME.

This just in from MMM, who is having problems with velcro birdy not staying in the birdy safe area.

Bird 10, people 11. Nailing one side of the curtain to the door frame didn't work. Adding velcro to the other side of the door frame didn't work. As fast as we we put up an obstacle, she breached it. Now---------we'll see. So far, so good. Sad bird. (expensive sad bird)

HOW COOL CAN THAT BE!
As in... I got to apply for a rebate online! Nothing to mail in, all info was on the register tape. That was an easy five bucks.
Just looking up AD/HD, as two of my girls have been diagnosed with it. They are extraodinarily bright girls. I know this because in spite of their disorder, both have done extremely well academically and socially. Well, mostly. And now that they're diagnosed, there is no limit to their achievements.
On another note, I just bought Hanes bras... made of that Kool Max stuff. Of course they don't make or WalMart doesn't carry these things for us VELoptuous women. So according to MMM's recommendation, I just bought the biggest one they had and an EXTENDER. See if that works! No more HOT TITS! HAHAHA.
My negative tit daughter wondered if she could fit into that.

OMG
I haven't been reading my eLists lately, been too busy with birdy stuff. Howsome-ever, I needed some fiberly advice, so betook meself to Sheep Thrills for some Thrillor expertise. Of course, now I'm reading ST daily, as it should be. So What do I discover today! Well, if you've time, check this out... http://www.venganza.org/ Took me a while to get up off the floor.
Some local gossip. While visiting with my Puter Guru they recieved a phone call, it seems Mad Momma (name changed to protect the innocent) called the cops because "He pushed me!" Well, cops came out, twice. The first time they warned her to quit! The second time they took her to jail and put a restraining order on her. She had been beating him with a curtain rod. His back was bloody and raw. Can you imagine! He said all his children were driven away by her. Well, I won't fill you in on ALL the details, but this is one crazy DAME! She stabbed one kid with a BBQ fork, shot one, and has beat her husband many times. Obviously this woman has some major issues, which have been allowed to fester. How strange. Count your blessings kidz.

Yes, Marcy! Wild Bird Sex! My house is X rated, they do it all day! Peep, peep, peep...
yes, yes, yes! And eggs! Too many! The latest hatch, Tes & Sinbad's brood of four, is fully feathered, bigger than their father. Poor Sinbad, he's still feeding them, though they are all starting to eat, seeds and veggies. I don't understand why people don't give their birds veggies. And fruit. They love it, and need it for birdy health! I knew a gal, had an African Grey, he died of malnutrition. The person she got it from worked in a pet shop and told her that all he needed was sunflower seeds. Gawd! And she kept him on the porch, isolated. So sad.
Been reading a lot of blogs lately, some pretty good stuff out there.
Mistah went out to the river today (Maine has lots of them, don't ask which one! I dunno) Took his newly made sluice box (?) and came home with some gold chips. Wish I could go with, but my back pain keeps me from doing lots of things I used to enjoy.
Talked to Ashley this morning, Shane left the States today headed to Iraq. DAMMIT! When it's your own, 20 years seems pretty young. How come our children have to go to war? Oh, is this actually a war? Maybe my grandson seems so young because I'm so old. Old and out of it.
Better stick to my knitting! Spinning? Friends went to a Rolling Thunder Meeting today, added Shane to the prayer list.
And when I say spinning, I am talking about making yarn from wool, silk, alpaca, all sorts of natural fibers and there are some new ones out there too. Bamboo, haven't tried that one yet. You wanna see it go look on eBay.
Still waiting for my processor for my newe puter, it's BACKORDERED. And my guru says to waitabit. TigerDirect is pretty much on top of things. They certainly are a good outfit to deal with, and their tech help actually IS.
No pics tonite.
