Grrrrrrrrrrr. Went to Cumberland Fair and there was NO fiber for sale! All kinds of sheepies, but not a fleece in the lot.

OWEL, wednesday we head on up to Fryeberg, I know there's fiber there, they built a whole new building for the fiber people, and tyhe first year it was already too small for the number of vendors who participated. Can't wait!.

Ordered some SAFFRON MERINO SUPERWASH FROM ebay. Gonna blend it with some other superwash, for kidlet stuff. Almost finished the AKKKrilakkk camo mittens for John. FOUR false starts! Grrrrrrrrrr. What can I say, I'm ALMOST perfek! What more could you want! Snyesy,
ummm, lost the home keys! ANYWAY! poop, now I forgot what I was gonna say! maybe I should go read other peeps blogs and leave you guys alone!

IT'S BEEN A WEEK!
I'm knitting!!! Mittens right now, and have knit a couple pair of slippers to be felted and have rubbery bottoms applied. Must remember to check out hardware stores for a product... dipit to spray on. AND I'm spinning, and am going to take my wheel and some fiber down to the Gold Prospecters Club fall outing at the Curtis' homestead in Farmington, where Geezah has volunteered to do some cooking and cleaning up, so we'll be there a lonnnnng time. I better bring lots to spin. Got two lobsters waiting for me down there. And Geezy has two also, and he don't really care for lobster. Think I may be able to relieve him of them?
I don't believe it's been a week since I posted! My new puter is all set up... without a new video card. Gakkkk I had ordered an ATI Allinwonder card for my old puter, it didn't fit, so saved it for new puter and it didn't fit! Stuck in a really old tired negative memory card, to get me up and going, but I miss doing my jigsaw puzzles and posting my pics.
Took Tess & Sinbad's babies (12 weeks old now) down to a pet shop in Lewiston. Chickened out and Geezah had to take them in for me. Now I can't ask anyone how they're doing. All my other babies have gone where I can keep track of them, but that also means if they don't work out I take them back. I have... seven rescues, one return, four babies now. Hopefully I'll find time to spend with them! At least I'm down to all in one cage again. Well, they're all around it, but the cage is always open.
Talked, briefly, to Shane a couple days ago. Hot there. Hasn't much to say. Prolly pretty bored. At least I hope so. Excitement is NOT what I want for him in Iraq.
Justine has been bringing her puppy, NormaJean down to spend days with me while she and James are at work. She (NJ) is in heat and her daddy is following her around with his nose up her butt. Of course Justine doesn't want NJ to get preggers, and her finances won't support a spaying yet. Anyway, NJ is a real sweetie and I promise a picture as soon as my new video card is installed.
Bil's birthday was last friday, and I haven't seen him, nor called... Well, I have seen him the last two days, driving through town in his jeep with his son, Ray. I wave frantically and he waves.. well, you know how laid back he is. He waves.
The horror stories from NO are so heart wrenching, everytime I watch the news I cry. Which isn't very productive. Prayer would be more helpful.
Talked with Michelle briefly tonight, they're having beautiful fall-like weather out there in Wisconsin. Gas prices are high there. Curtails some trips. All are well and doing fine. Kids started school.
Sonia is doing well, is back at work, after a month hiatus to deal with the stress of her job and empty nest.
That's it for now. Boring without the piccys. TUFF.

HIJACKED BLOG
How strange! One of my favorite blogs has been hijacked!
I'm new to blogging, so I've no idea how that could have happened. I have visions of DG wreaking vengance, but didn't get any notion of her having enough intelligence to do it herself or finding anyone to do it for her.
My next trick is to learn a couple tags, to preserve line spacing.
RELIEF
Things are beginning to move in NewOrleans. Thank God. It seems that at last the bottleneck has resolved itself and relief is getting to those people. I cannot imagine the long term consequences of all that devastation, but at last things are being done to help.
I am wondering what kind of safety nets will be put in place after this. Like, what about those poor, really poor people who have no means to evacuate, no money for motels/hotels, no vehicles to get them around. Obviously, you can't just drive around with your big loudspeaker announcing that everyone must evacuate. You need to provide a way.

How very sad that we have lost such a huge huge piece of our history, and sadder, the loss of lives, the loss of so much for our own refugees. I urge you to trip on over to read Madman's rant

on today's (thursday) blog, then check out what the White Trash Poet wrote...

It is hard to listen to the news, I want to shut it off, I feel guilty for my comforts, feel guilty that I can change channels and watch some mindless crap. I can't imagine what those people are experiencing nor how they're coping.
