GRIPE OF THE MONTH

BS
.
Nothing much to blog about, at least not fiberwise. All that is on hold while I settle the house back down from the discombobulation of removing everything from the kitchen and foyer/birdroom/office so that a new carpet could be laid. A carpet mind you that has a matt finish, and should wear more gracefully than the underlying hardwood floor. A carpet that the professionals came into my home, measured and estimated for... an estimate that they assured me on their last words, as they went out the door with my estimate in their hands, that included the recommended luan. HUH... BS! Less than a week later, all was ready. Mostly readied by MOI. With the help of my great grandson. Installers came, carpet was laid in short time, and bill was paid. With reservations, because they did NOT use the luan, price of which was included in estimate... ah, but, installer assured me luan was not needed. Okay. Next day went to place of business, being uncomfortable with outcome... three said luan needed, luan included in estimate... luan not used. Aren't I due some explaination to assure that ... Oh, we were mistaken, you did not need the luan. Hmmmph. Well, no one around to answer my questions. Phone call later in evening... "oh, but you didn't want to pay for the luan." Now that was truly bulshit! And they had assured me that the luan was included in the estimate. So... somebody made a hellovamistake. Musta been me. I was told that the luan was NOT included in the price. Hmph. yawel. I have a nice new vinyl floor kitchen through office/foyer/birdroom. Easy care. last 15-20 years. Just overpaid for it by the price of the nonexistant luan. Next time insist on having the estimate in writing in my hands. Gonna send in a spy to find out how much I overpaid these jerks. For their mistake!
