OFF THE LOOM
.
Stay stitched on the machine, folded over and stitched again, then hand hemmed with a bit of the varigated yarn used in the blankie. Too thick. went to Wally World and got the pink blanket binding. Will try that today. Mostly, I'm anxious to get it washed and dried to see what it will feel like. As of now, it's pretty coarse, not soft and baby comfy. Won't really know what we got till it's been through that process. and daren't wash till the hemming is done.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO...
.
THE DISGUSTING GIRL I WORK WITH blog? Where'd it go! It was hilll- arious. I read all the archives and was enjoying the daily blurbs, and one day I got there and OOPS the messages was... " move on, nothing to see here". I haven't been able to find it since then. If you know where it went, or what happened, please don't be bashful... share!

KOISES, FOILED AGAIN!
.
Yep, my new, replaced, motherboard, which detoured for two months in Mexico, Mexico, is prolly still there. The company did send me another. Guess the Mexico traveler decided to stay. So here I am with another new motherboard, and guess what!!! This is so exciting! The dam thing died on me. Now, I realize that a company that keeps you waiting two months for a replacement on a three year guaranteed part, is probally not the most reliable, but I saw on the news last night where several top of the line camera companies had used a defective chip in their product. I won't extend that doubtful problem to my MB company, but it bears some thought. And I AM pissed to be out of computer AGAIN!!! So, guess what I did! I ORDERED A DIFFERENT MOTHERBOARD. I'll deal with the defective one later, when I am back online with my own computer.

FASHIONISTAS
.
Caught these teens filling out raffle tickets at Fryeberg Fair this past fall, must be their brother lurking in wait. Thought you would enjoy a glimpse into rural haute couture. Such elan, these gals were great, so's the young duderoo. I just wanted to hug them!

SLIME GREEN!!!
.
This appeared across the street one day. I promised you a pic. Wouldn't get lost in a snow storm, but perhaps would function very well as a target! It's only appeared twice in two months. Guess it's difficult to get anywhere init.

BULLSH*T
.
DAMMIT! The whole thing is out of sequence!!! I keep trying and I keep screwingggg it up! Rather be getting screwed, but owel. Anyway, following is a buncha pics like I been promising. As you can tell, I got my own computer back atlast! And there'll be more piccys to come, and more mistakes for sure. Don't wanna get you all excited that I might know whatinhell I'm doing!

ALL MOST A YARD!!!

ALL EVENED OUT

ALL TIED ON

OUR CHRISTMAS PREZZIE
.
is the background for the Lilly Loom. Nope, still haven't looked at the logo. I'll get it right sooner or later. In the meantime. About my Baby Wolf, which I love unto death! First off, I warped it up and made a wide sample thinggy, that I haven't taken a pic of yet, but I learned how to do a twilllll. All those drafts are pretty confusing when you first start, but I've found if I just take it a step at a time, it falls into place pretty easily.
.
So, I warped it up again, for a double wide piece. Using up some acrylic I've had simmering in my stash for years. No sense in taking any chances on my hand spun wool, when I can practice with the acrylic and end up with a baby blankie or something a new mother might find easy to take care of.
.
Here's pics of the process...

PICTURES!!!
yep, promised, din't I!
.
First of all, here's my Lili (lily? Lilly? Maybe I need to go look at the logo) loom, which I love because it is silent. I can weave two harness towels all night and not bother a soul. It's all warped up, but of course, needs some adjustment, missed heddles, crossed warps. whatever can go wrong, has. I'll fis it latah.

FLIGHT PATH
.
Ya, me. Right in the middle of it. 12 tiels checking me out and letting me know their opinion on everything. And they do have opinions. They love their overthedoors raw wood roosts. I used to cringe everytime I heard that beak-on-wood gnawing sound. Gotta retrain my cringe reaction. All except the Bitch (little green bitch parakeet) are availing themselves of the acceptable chew sites. SHE still thinks the molding around the star-well needs alteration. We'll see about that, I can still net her and clip her flight feathers ;>
.
I would love to be able to show you what I'm doing now! So excited! I warped some acrylic yarns onto my wonderful Baby Wolf loom, and set it up for a DOUBLE WIDE piece! I'm weaving a folded piece! so it is double wide. At one point, I had a crossed warp end anafter three tries and unweaves, had to take a break, but mostly it's going along fine. Not as quick as single width, but, going along fine. Had started with a reallllly taut floater on the folded edge, when it broke, I took a chance that my edge could remain straight. Well, it did draw in over time, so I threaded another taut floater on through. Probably should do the same at the two selvages, and there is still time, though I think I've got about a yard woven so far. Oh, this is so exciting. Would love to show you the piccys! Grrr.
.
and Grrrrrrrrrrr. Today, if my motherboard does not show up, I will order a new one from a different company, and swallow my loss with a flurry of nasty grams to anyone connected with that fn company. So there!

YOU KNOW WHAT SUKS?
.
Not having my own computer. Not being able to show you piccys of my latest accomplishments, disasters and surprises! Like, the raw wood lathes screwed above the door moldings in the birdroom/office, for the little darlings to chew. Better they chew this wood that my love had sawed from his own logs, so not treated with any crapola to kill my babies.
.
Better yet, I'd love to show you the fabric I just took off the loom, and the new warp I finished beaming on last night. I am using stash! Firstly I'm using up as much of my old acrylic stash as I can and stay within my tolerance for color and texture. I've become a fiber snob since I started spinning, and expecially when making wearables for children. The thought that an acrylic garment can melt into the skin and a woolen garment will damp the fire, makes it difficult to justify using the accyrilakkk. Seems like maybe possibly superwash wool may be the way to go. Haven't seen any stats on its behavior under fire, but ASSume it acts the same as any wool.
.
Tilting at Windmills, Rant, ... against the machine, just plain old pissiness
.
On the frontline, Jon has called the maker of my mother board for the third time. My part is still sitting in Mexico (the country) and for the second time they've ASSured him that they will send on a new motherboard and NOT wait for that misdirected one to make its way back to them, I somehow doubt they mean it. He has faith. We'll see. And, if I've complained about the people I bought the motherboard from, Tiger Direct, let me retract any nasties I've said about them. The maker of the motherboard is who I've been dealing with. So. Once I have it back, installed and running, I have plans for the maker of the motherboard. I plan to rip them a new place to shove their heads. And if I knew their name, I would have used it here. HowSomeEver, time will tell. I will also apprise Tiger Direct of the kind of service I've got from one of their vendors, though little difference that will make! One dissatisfied little thousand dollar customer isn't going to make a big dent anywhere. There, I feel much better.
.
Someday there will be piccys!
.
Today I will figure out how to sley my warp. Mucho math has ruled my days lately, what with figuring out how much and how many and which!

Dam, I'm GOOD!
.
Thursday evening it clicked, I learned how to read a draft (well, a simple one) and how to weave 2/2 twill. Loked good on paper. Friday morning I DID IT! oh, DEEElite! Happy, happy me! Dance, dance, dance. It looks so good on the loom, complicated even! Like I know what I'm doing! hahahaha Can't wait to post a piccy!
.
This morning, I am determined to release the tension from the breast beam and make sure I ain't weaving a big bubble. There has been a decided sag in the middle, even though the tension seems to be even across. I'm scared. If this dam thing has a hump, I will UNWEAVE it. Later.
.
Now I know I must have an eight harness loom. I love my Baby Wolf, and don't see what's the big difference and why I can't just buy the center (technical term here) and have a four now four later on this loom, instead of having to ditch this and buy another. I will HAVE to have eight harnesses. No way around it!.
.
On another important front, I must learn enough html to be able to put spaces between paragraphs. Think I got a book somewhere.

TA!
